Corona Virus Information

As a nurse myself, you can be confident that the cleaning standards at Failte Mhor are of the highest order at all times. I employ cleaning staff but I also check the property myself ahead of your check in.

Be assured that the property will have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitised ahead of your arrival and will have been made "Covid secure".

A cleaner may attend the property during your stay to refresh linen and attend to refuse collection, etc. Should you wish a mid-stay deep clean of the property, please advise your host who can arrange this for you.

Please ensure the property is ventilated daily and that on your day of departure all windows are opened to provide adequate ventilation ahead of the cleaner's' arrival (a COVID-19 security requirement).

You are respectfully requested to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition and as you would wish to find it yourself. For example, place used dishes into the dishwasher, wipe down the kitchen work surfaces / dining table after use and place used towels into the base of the shower tray for collection.

A thorough Coronavirus risk assessment has been performed for the property. If you would like to be furnished with a copy of this, please let me know and I can send it to you electronically.

Please do not be offended when I ask you to sanitise your hands each time you enter the property using the hand gel dispenser located by the main door. This is for the benefit all house occupants and staff.

Whist the cleaner is working within the property, I ask that you vacate the area to allow them to work safely and socially distanced from all guests. The cleaner works usually between 10:00 and 13:00.

Guests are expected to take responsibility for their own health and safety too and take sensible precautions in respect of observing scrupulous hand and respiratory hygiene practices at all times.

Please observe the Scottish Government guidelines in respect of "FACTS"
  • F = Wear a face covering whilst in the company of anyone from outside your household
  • A = Avoid crowded places
  • C = Clean your hands frequently using soap and water and use sanitiser gel when this is not available
  • T = Observe 2 metre social distancing
  • S = Self Isolate and book a covid test if you experience ANY of the following symptoms:
    • Fever
    • New or persistent cough
    • Lack of or a change in taste or smell

In the event you experience illness during your stay, you must report this to your host immediately and stay indoors. Do not leave the property under any circumstances.

You must then book yourself a test via the following web address: NHS self help guide for coronavirus testing.

If the test result is negative, you may continue with your stay. If the test result is positive, you must return home immediately if your own home is located within the UK.

In the event you are travelling here from overseas, the local health authority will provide you guidance on appropriate accommodation locally for you to be housed in for your self-isolation period. Your host can provide you more information on this process.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the property it would not be possible for you to stay on at Failte Mhor to complete a period of self-isolation if that would extend beyond your original booked departure date.

Should you have any questions in respect of the COVID-19 precautions / guidance, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me to ask.
